Dr. Megan Hughes-Jones, she/her
R. Psych

I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (#2303), with a doctoral degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Outside of private practice, I work with a local health authority in an outpatient Eating Disorders Program.

Over the course of my clinical training and practice, I’ve obtained experience in a range of settings, including hospital based care, community mental health, and post secondary student health, with diverse individuals and presenting concerns. I have worked as a Sessional Instructor at UBC, teaching undergraduate students, and as a Clinical Supervisor for students pursuing graduate training. I consistently reference and integrate research findings and literature, to ensure that I’m providing evidence based care. My areas of practice include anxiety, mood, eating disorders, and reproductive mental health. I also work with family members providing support to a loved one living with a mental health issue.

What’s most important to me is my relationship with the individuals with whom I’m working. I am inclusive and collaborative, and invested in developing a safe, trusting, and authentic relationship in which you can explore the experiences, challenges, and struggles that led you to reach out for support. I employ cognitive, behavioural, and emotionally focused interventions, and tailor my approach based on the hopes you bring for change and healing. I will meet you with kindness, curiosity, and a strong commitment to moving in the direction of your goals. I look forward to meeting you.
